prepping before your Bright Minne Spray Tan

step 1: shower + exfoliate

Moisturize daily to help your tan last for at least 7-10 days

SHOWER & EXFOLIATE for a Flawless Tan 24 HOURS BEFORE YOUR SPRAY TAN:

Proper exfoliation is the most important step in prepping your skin for a flawless, long-lasting spray tan. By removing dead skin cells, you’ll ensure the tanning solution applies evenly and absorbs properly, preventing streaks and patches.

Here are some detailed TIPS to help you exfoliate effectively 24 HOURS before your Bright Minne mobile spray tan

Exfoliating Mitten can be used 24 hrs prior to your tanning apptointment to prep your skin properly f

 Exfoliating Mitt or Gloves

An exfoliating mitt or glove can provide a thorough exfoliation that helps slough off dead skin cells. Use it in the shower with a mild body wash. The mitt can help you reach tricky areas, ensuring your skin is perfectly smooth for your Bright Minne spray tan.

Dry Brushing

Dry brushing is an excellent way to exfoliate before your spray tan. Use a dry body brush with natural bristles to gently brush your skin in circular motions. Start at your feet and work your way up toward your heart. Dry brushing not only removes dead skin but also improves circulation, helping your skin look smoother and more radiant. Focus on areas that tend to be rougher, like elbows, knees, and ankles, to avoid uneven tanning in those spots.

 Exfoliating Scrubs

For an even deeper exfoliation, use a gentle body scrub in the shower 24 hours before your appointment. Choose a scrub with fine, natural exfoliating agents like sugar or coffee, which won’t leave behind oily residue that could interfere with the tanning solution. Pay special attention to dry areas where the tan can cling, such as your elbows, knees, and heels.

Avoid Oil-Based Scrubs

Avoid any scrubs that leave an oily residue, as this can create a barrier on your skin and prevent the spray tan from developing evenly. Stick with scrubs that rinse off clean and don’t coat your skin in oil leaving a barrier on the skin.

2. SHAVE | WAX:

Wax and/or shave 24 - 48 hours prior to your tan appointment

SHAVE OR WAX 24 HOURS BEFORE SPRAY TAN APPOINTMENT

For a smooth, even Bright Minne mobile spray tan, it's best to shave or wax at least 24 hours before your appointment. This ensures any hair removal doesn’t cause irritation or open pores that could affect how the tan develops. Shaving or waxing too close to your appointment can leave your skin sensitive and unevenly absorb the tanning solution.

However, if you prefer keeping your body hair, no problem! Your tan will still look great—just make sure your skin is clean and exfoliated for the best results. Avoid shaving after your spray tan as it can shorten the life of your tan.

STEP 3: WAIT TO SHOWER

Wait to shower 8-12 hours after your tan appointment or 4-6 hours after with rapid solution

Allow your tan to fully develop by avoiding showering for at least 8-12 hours after your appointment. This gives the tanning solution time to set and heat up to your body temperture.

Avoid sweating or getting wet during this period as it may affect the final result.

AFTER CARE OF YOUR BRIGHT MINNE SPRAY TAN:

showering after the spray tan

Your first shower will be 8-12 hours after your tan appointment, 4-6 hours with rapid solution

First Shower:

When you do shower, use lukewarm water and rinse gently. It’s normal for some color to wash off during this first shower—that’s just the color guide, not your tan!

Avoid scrubbing, and do not use soaps, body wash, or exfoliants during this shower.

Moisturize Daily

Gentle Products:

For future showers, use mild, sulfate-free body washes or soaps. Harsh soaps can strip away your tan, causing it to fade unevenly.

Avoid loofahs, exfoliating mitts, or anything abrasive untilnyou are ready for your next Bright Minne Spray Tan.

MOISTURIZE Daily:

Hydrated skin holds onto your tan longer! After each shower, apply a fragrance-free, hydrating moisturizer to keep your skin soft and help your tan last longer.

Avoid oil-based lotions and exfoliating products, as they can break down the tanning solution during the life of the Bright Minne Spray Tan.

Pat Dry, Don’t Rub:

Pat dry after you shower to avoid blotchy /uneven tan development

When drying off after a shower, pat your skin gently with a towel instead of rubbing it. Rubbing can cause your tan to fade unevenly.

Avoid Long Baths, Pools, and Saunas:

Prolonged exposure to water, especially in pools with chlorine, hot tubs, or saunas, can cause your tan to fade faster. If you plan on swimming, moisturize beforehand and rinse off after to minimize fading.

Shaving After Tanning:

Wax shave 24-48 hours prior to tan appointment

If you need to shave after your spray tan, use a sharp razor and a moisturizing shaving cream.

Shaving can gradually remove your tan, so shave only when necessary and use light pressure.
